Tigers make it three on the bounce!
Castleford Tigers make it three on the spin after defeating Catalan Dragons at home!
The Sun was shining above The Jungle as Jordan Abdull got us underway in our Armed Forces fixture.
Video Referee Aaron Moore was called into action after five minutes when a spiralling kick from Rowan Milnes went high confusing Arthur Mourgue. The young fullback was waiting for the ball to roll dead but Liam Horne was there first to ground the ball.
Jason Qareqare got the Jungle rocking after a Tex Hoy flick pass allowed the Fiji international to rush down the line, luckily Arthur Mourgue was there to cover.
Jacob Miller continued his form from the London fixture with a try against the Dragons, Innes Senior bumped off the oncoming defenders and found the halfback on the inside to put Cas further in front.
Cas had some defending to do with seventeen to play, Tariq Sims looked to get himself over but Tex Hoy’s tackle was enough for the Dragons number eleven to lose possession.
The Fords took advantage of this moments later when Cain Robb broke the line on his first involvement, finding Liam Horne on his shoulder for his second of the afternoon.
Catalan finally got themselves on the board with ten to play in the opening half, an Abdull kick went high, and Johnstone was there to leap above Qareqare to score.
Cas went into the half in front after a promising first forty minutes in front of the home crowd, a Horne double and Jacob Miller try was the difference between the two sides.
It was Catalan who started the second half off in a positive fashion as Matt Ikuvalu crashed over in the corner despite the efforts of the oncoming Cas defenders putting Catalan behind by six.
Both sides were going end to end in the second half, a few half chances for Cas in the opening quarter of the second half but unfortunately not points were scored.
Rowan Milnes attempted a field goal with seventeen to play but a charge down allowed Catalan to march down the other end of the field.
This led to Arthur Mourgue taking advantage, Morgue danced his way round Corey Hall and dived over in the corner leaving himself a conversion from the touch line to level the scores which he nailed.
Tex Hoy put Cas ahead with a great try with less than ten minutes to play, a drop off from Rowan Milnes and the Tigers superstar Tex Hoy strolled under the posts in front of the Wheldon Road end.
It was Craig Lingard’s Tigers that took the points after the eighty-minute end to end contest. Three on the bounce for The Tigers in a turn of form in recent weeks.
